Compounding has a role in aiding the physician to treat and medicate the pediatric patient as well. We are able to apply compounding techniques to design dosage forms to meet the special needs of children. This can include preparing liquid suspensions, medicated lollipops, or, flavoring.

We are able to prepare medications in liquid or capsule form, or in a specific dosage which might not be commercially available. We can also add flavors and colors to existing liquid medications to enhance the palatability of an existing commercial product. Some drugs have an extremely metallic taste when put in a suspension. Our compounding pharmacists are able to add flavoring to the drug which makes the medication more palatable.
